New Products and Blog Plans

My poor blog has such a tendency to be neglected! Between writing Etsy descriptions, tweeting on Twitter, and posting updates on Facebook, it seems like I never find the time to sit down  and post here. In addition to making the products for Quintescentials, I also work as a freelance writer. It seems like working as a writer would make it easier for me to write meaningful blog posts... Not so much. BUT starting today, I am really going to try to dedicate more time to blogging by setting myself on a schedule. Check back throughout the week to see the topics for each day. Without further ado, I would like to unveil the first "feature" on our blog.

Every Monday I am going to post updates on all our new products. Today I am really excited to announce that I have created a line of body butter. It is made with shea butter and vitamin E, and it feels great on your skin! It isn't quite like most body butters you would find in stores. It is a bit thinner than the butters sold by many retailers, but this makes it apply so much easier. Currently we have 2 fragrances: Chocolate Mousse and Pink Sugar. More will be added with time, and I'm always open to suggestions!

I'm also working on expanding our whipped soap line, and today I added Pink Sugar to the line up. If you've never tried Pink Sugar, you should! It is a yummy smelling blend of cotton candy, musk, and jasmine. It doesn't quite have a "foody" smell, but it doesn't quite smell like perfume or flowers either. Its just wonderful!

PoochyCouture

I am an avid animal lover. My husband and I share our home with three fish, six cats, and a dog. Until recently, we had two dogs, but we found out Abby had untreatable cancer, and, sadly, she had to be euthanized in January.

I miss Abby like crazy, and it seems like since she has been gone I have been spoiling the other doggy (Dakota) even more than before. I recently got on Etsy and ordered her a custom identification tag that showed up in my mail today, and I couldn't be happier!

PoochyCouture has absolutely adorable customizable pet tags in a ton of styles. I couldn't pick just one, so after spending a lot of time browsing the shop, I contacted Dee, the shop owner, with my ideas for a totally custom tag featuring some of my favorite elements from other listings in her shop. She got back to me very quickly with suggestions on how to make it all come together perfectly and set up a custom listing for me. She is incredibly friendly and very easy to work with.

I was surprised to see that my order was already shipped earlier this week. For a completely custom tag she got it made up and sent out really fast! I was so excited to see the package in the mail today. How cute is this?!

The tag actually has my full phone number on it, and it also has my address and my husband's phone number on the back. It is completely hand stamped, and I think it is just adorable. If I ever need another pet ID tag, I will definitely be ordering from Dee. Her prices are very reasonable, and the turnaround time is amazing! This fully customized tag only cost $15 + $3 shipping, and it arrived less than a week after I ordered it.

The past few days have been nice and sunny (but COLD!) here in northwestern Pennsylvania, and the brighter days have made me start thinking about new projects and products for Spring. Whenever I'm looking for some inspiration and ideas, I love browsing Etsy to see the things that other creative people have come up with. Here are some of my favorites for Spring.

6. Lilac Simple Indulgence Soap – Coquette Bath

I can't wait for warmer weather and to start making some of my own Spring-y soaps!

Chocoholics Rejoice!

Who doesn't love chocolate?? I know I do. With my upcoming new line of products, you can enjoy your favorite rich chocolate without putting on a single pound. My Chocolate Fudge Heart Shaped Sugar Scrubs have been a great success, so I am adding more chocolate products to satisfy your sweet tooth. Next on the list is a scrumptious Chocolate Mousse Whipped Soap. It comes in a jar and has the consistency of whipped cream, and it smells just like your favorite dessert. Because its made with real cocoa, it is also great for your skin and will leave it feeling soft and smooth. Chocolate lip balm is also in the works. What other chocolate bath products would you love to see?

New Goodies are on the Way!

I got some brand new supplies in yesterday, and I'm planning on ordering some more fun stuff very soon. Be on the lookout for lots of fun new products in the very near future!

Living in northwestern Pennsylvania, I have already have enough of Winter for this year, so I'm getting started on some products for Spring and Summer. One of my favorite new scents for the upcoming season is "Berry Pop". Its a mouth watering mixture of ripe berries, orange zest, and just a hint of vanilla. It smells yummy enough to eat! Today I whipped up a batch of Natural Stars & Swirls using this sweet, summery smell.

I *love* the Stars & Swirls design because no two bars are ever quite the same. Each is unique and beautiful. The purple color and sweet Berry Pop fragrance makes bath time feel like Summer even on a cold, snowy January day!

In other news, I am now also on Flickr. You can find me at www.flickr.com/quintescentials
